Students
Welcome To Our Student Page
Townsend House is a teaching practice working closely with the Royal Devon & Exeter Hospital and the University of Exeter, having frequent students join our team on placement provides a fresh and exciting opportunity for the students to experience a real working environment while learning new skills and gaining the knowledge required for general practice.
Our 2022-23 feedback rated us as EXCELLENT "The panel hasn't identified any areas of concern. There are one or more areas identified which ought to be communicated to others to highlight good practice and where practical these should be implemented in other training environments".
Former Student feedback:
GP Placement (2022) "The staff are lovely, friendly and very helpful. It was great to be able to see patients on my own - I enjoyed all aspects of the placement which was hands on."
SSU/Minor Surgery (2022) "Very hands-on - it's the first opportunity we've had to do anything like this with real patients."
F2 Foundation Doctor (2021-2022) "Really good insight into working life of general practice. The team are extreamely friendly with an excellent, approachable clinical supervisor."
F2 Foundation Doctor (2021 - 2022) "Excellent clinical supervisor and all partners at practice highly approachable and supportive of trainees. Comfortable and friendly working environment, ideal balance of workload to learning oppertunities and very accommodating with study leave."
Parking and Taxis
We are limited on parking spaces at the surgery so what we do have is reserved for the patients. However, there is plenty of parking available along Harepath Road or on the road next to the surgery.
