HEALTH AND CARE FORUM FOR SEATON LOCALITY

In 2015 Health professionals and others with an interest in Health and Care issues were invited to join a Forum for Seaton and the surrounding parishes.

Meetings of the Forum have been held at Seaton and District Hospital since 2015 and members are very keen to encourage others to join, especially in order to represent patients and the public and in particular younger members of the community.

The Forum is one of five in the East Devon area, the others being Axminster, Honiton, Ottery St. Mary and Sidmouth and this provides a route for taking more general issues forward.

With recent changes in health services it is even more important that local people have their say.

Anyone with an interest in Health and Care matters or belonging to a group that they feel should be represented on the Forum can contact Tina Trapani who chairs the Forum by phoning 01297 21788 or by emailing nantinmumber@yahoo.com

Welcome to Townsend House Medical Centre

We are confident that our website will provide clear and concise help and give our patients the information they require in an easy and convenient format. It has been designed with the patient’s needs at the forefront of everything, from checking surgery times to letting us know what you think of us.

Serving You

Our dedicated team are here to treat those minor ailments that occur as well as providing specialist management of long-term conditions and clinics covering a wide range of healthcare issues. The technology also means you can now do a lot of things from the comfort of your home such as order a repeat prescription or cancel an appointment.

Partners in Care

Once registered, patients and healthcare professionals work together to ensure the most appropriate care is provided. This partnership philosophy extends even further and our active patient group exists to make sure that patient needs and the practice offering are always heading in the same direction.

Dr Julian Hurst Retirement

Dr Julian Hurst is retiring from the partnership at Townsend House at the end of June 2018. With more time on his hands expect to see him out on his bike around the lanes of East Devon or walking the South West coastal path. The garden will remain sadly neglected. He stared working in Seaton in 1996 having previously practiced in New Zealand. With more time to travel a trip back to explore the South Island is planned

He will continue to work 2 days a week on Monday and Tuesday until he is deemed surplus to requirements (!) or the lure of full time retirement becomes too great.

He would like to thank the patients for all their encouragement and support over the years and wishes everyone well for the future.

Race for Life

Townsend House have entered a team (Caroline, Julia, Elly, Gill and Donna-Marie) to raise funds for cancer research, in support of a member of staff, Lorraine, who is currently undergoing treatment.

If you would like to make a donation, please either visit our just giving page www.justgiving.com/fundraising/elly-potter or leave your donations in the box by front desk.

Thank you.
